Which Size Marble Chess Set Should You Buy?
Size decides where the set will live. Measure the table or shelf first, then choose the board that fits it with a little room around the edges.
12 Inch: The All-Rounder
Our widest range of colours. Big enough to play a serious game, small enough for a coffee table, and most come with a storage box and two extra queens.
Shop 12 inch chess sets15 Inch: The Statement Piece
Built for display and play. The heavier pieces and larger board make this the set people notice the moment they walk into the room.
Shop 15 inch chess setsHow to Choose the Right Marble Colour
Contrast matters more than you might think. The stronger the difference between the two sides, the easier the board is to read mid-game and the better it looks from across the room.
Black & White
The classic. Maximum contrast, fits any interior and never dates. If you are unsure, start here with our black and white marble chess sets.
Oceanic & White
Deep blue-green onyx against bright white. A cooler, more modern look that suits contemporary living rooms and studies.
Black & Coral
Warm coral tones set against a near-black side. Strong contrast with a softer, earthier feel than black and white.
Travertine & Green
Natural, honey-toned travertine paired with green or black stone. For a cleaner, design-led take, see our modern marble chess sets.

Black Friday FAQs
When is Black Friday in 2026?
Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026. Every gift on this page is ready to order now, so you can choose early and skip the last-minute rush.
Is shipping free over Black Friday?
Yes. Shipping is free on Royal Bishop orders, and the delivery estimate for your address is shown at checkout before you pay.
Which marble chess set size is best as a gift?
The 12 inch set is the safest choice: big enough for a proper game, small enough for most coffee tables, and available in the widest range of colours. Choose 15 inch if the set will be a display piece, or 10 inch for a desk or shelf.
What comes in the box with a Royal Bishop chess set?
Boxed sets include the marble board, 32 hand-polished pieces, 2 extra queens, adhesive felt pads for your furniture and a protective storage box with custom foam inserts. Check each product page for the exact contents of that set.
Will my chess set look exactly like the photos?
Very close, but not identical. Every board is cut from natural stone, so the veining and colour vary slightly from piece to piece. That variation is what makes each set one of a kind.
How do I clean and care for a marble chess set?
Wipe the board and pieces with a soft, damp microfiber cloth after use. Avoid acidic cleaners such as vinegar or lemon and harsh chemicals, which can etch the stone, and keep the pieces in the foam-lined box when not in use.
The Gift They Will Keep for Decades
Free shipping on every order, and every set arrives gift-ready in a protective storage box.
